Modern Polished Concrete

Est. 2009  —  Architectural Concrete

Floors composed in light, ground to a mirror.

Modern Polished Concrete is a specialist atelier crafting seamless, diamond-polished concrete surfaces for residences, galleries, hospitality and industrial architecture across the state.

— The Practice

A quiet obsession with surface.

Concrete is never just a floor to us. It is the quiet foundation of a room — the surface that catches morning light, anchors furniture, and holds the rhythm of daily life.

We work slowly, deliberately, in partnership with architects and homeowners, revealing the stone and character already hidden in the slab. Each stage — grinding, honing, densifying, polishing — is tuned to the space, the light, and the way the room is meant to feel.

— Method

01

Assessment

Slab moisture, hardness and aggregate depth are recorded on site before any specification is issued.

02

Grind

Metal-bond diamonds from 30 to 120 grit expose the aggregate profile agreed with the architect.

03

Densify

Lithium silicate reacts within the matrix, increasing surface hardness and dust-proofing the slab.

04

Polish

Resin-bond diamonds refine to 800, 1500 or 3000 grit — from honed satin to full mirror.

"The floor became the architecture. Honest, clean, and impossibly refined — it is the surface the room had been waiting for."
