Bunker House

A house built of board-formed walls asks very little of its floor, and that restraint set the brief. We ground the slab back until the aggregate read as a fine grey snow, then held the polish at a honed matte so it draws light down the entry without ever glaring. Underfoot it feels cool and slightly soft — the calm counterweight to all that raw concrete overhead.
